Okay so yes, I am a bit crazy and weird, I like country music. Country music is down to Earth and tends to relate to me in some ways it's not all just about being famous or having sex with strangers so yeah it has value to me. Don't get me wrong I love all music but country music has always been put down but there are some really good country songs out there. The new country may be a little more to most peoples liking than the old country but either way it goes it's still not liked that well but I really do love it. One of my favorite artists is Miranda Lambert, she is also a role model for me as is Reba Mcentire. They are both strong women that have gone through a lot of things and I can relate a lot of their songs the most. They just kind of speak to me and make me feel like I'm not alone and that there are people out there that have had similar problems to mine.
Now while I may not be a primp and proper young lady I do still have feelings and like the small things like late night phone calls or text messages or the guy holding my hand just to walk through walmart and cuddling on the couch late at night while watching some horror movie. Or dancing out in the rain and laughing while getting soaked to the bone.
My point I'm trying to make is that while they may be popular now they started at nothing and made their way and they are still humans like us and they tell their stories through their songs or it's someone else's story because there are people out there who write the songs and have stage fright so can't sing them but they are still good. I have always loved country music because it's always been able to comfort me in any situation I've been in. I know that this won't change everyone's minds but who's to say that you can't all give country a chance just once.
Maybe if you could look past the melody and to the lyrics if that's the problem (although the melody on some makes for good slow dancing). We can all, somewhere in our past, relate to at least one country song and I know when I find that song it's like i'm flying and I can't stop smiling and laughing. Country music can be amazing if people would really give it a chance.
My parents raised me on country music and there is no way I could live without it in my life because I honestly think it's that amazing. Now I'm not trying to force my opinion on you just sharing my opinion with the world. Country music has given me the strength to just be me and the courage to find my voice. Country music even brings back so many memories, some good, some I wish I could forget but they all are a part of me and that's a good thing.
